This is the first time we have come across congratulating the graduation class virtually and not by celebrating their success, not by openly giving hugs, not by raising a toast for them. Everybody wished to mark their success with anything but not pandemic. A big thanks to YouTube for their efforts put behind making of “Dear class of 2020”. Thanks to all the speakers for addressing their honest thoughts to cheer the graduates all around the world.
Dear class of 2020, just like any other subject, add this crisis to your semester and pass on this subject as well. The best thing you did is delaying all the gatherings and outings you planned. Now is the real start of your life. Schooling was just a trailer. Your seniors from school or college are no more your seniors once you get into the industrial world. Under such unfortunate circumstances we have a lot of grievances to talk about but no one ready to listen to them. You all have reached a milestone amid this pandemic. No batch in history has had access to technology as we have in 2020. Use these resources to continue with your plans and stand with each other to make everything subtle again. 2020 has been one of the worst years for humanity and for other living creatures as well. Try hoping in this hopeless situation, try getting comfortable with being uncomfortable and you shall win over this unwinnable circumstance. We are the youth who should point differences in how fortunate we are with the available resources and technology to move forward compared to the previous batches.
“Losing lakhs of people like us
worst news we read every day,
get your hopes together and
make this world a better place to stay”
Don’t tell your grandchildren your failure because of this pandemic instead prepare yourself to tell them your success story in spite of this pandemic. It is just the degree you did not receive while people clapping for you, but the fact of you clearing your foundation of education and getting into real-world experiences is certain. Coming years are all yours. So just focus on your goals and live for what makes you happy.
Congratulations to the class of 2020. Make it count.
