The human mind communicates with its five senses, creating an impulse of thoughts and reflecting on the actions to be performed. Humans do what their mind allows them to do. The next task to be completed depends on how the mind processes signals.
The mind is a connecting link between the thoughts and the actions. Everything you think you are bad at is because your mind is trained in that way. Suppose you set a target of reading a book tomorrow. You wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is check your favorite device. Your mind does not restrain you from using it. That’s how it is trained. That’s how you have trained it till now. This planned task of reading a book is eventually delayed. You cannot entirely control your mind, but you can voluntarily hand over it to plan, desire, or purpose which you wish transformed into concrete form. The biggest advantage you can have is control over your mind. Mind paves the way for negative thoughts like procrastination. It is one of your worst enemies that is responsible for your downfall. Hoping to perform a task doesn’t work until your mind fully advocates it. Procrastination among you was built up because of your habit to delay things because you allowed your mind to take control over you.
You need the exact opposite of this. Start writing down your ambitions and work on it daily. You fail in achieving your goals before the given time because you let your mind think that there is no deadline and you carry on with your accustomed line of events. Lack of motivation toward achieving might eat you one day. Understand the principle behind letting your mind think for you, let it convert your thoughts into action. You should not just agree with the title but also know how to utilize it. Take a group of people who you think has changed the world. Assume your freedom fighters or the engineers that introduced us to the best gadgets. They had their vision. They could see nothing but what they aim for. You are taught history, geography, languages in school but no one teaches you lessons on self-improvement, no one teaches you to make yourself better with all the tangible resources you have. You are responsible for your mental power. Put your plan into action. People shall guide you toward the path but they can’t force you to perform the activity. It is you who should start acting on it. Get rid of negative influences. It just doesn’t happen overnight. You have to work on things that you wish to overcome. These activities shall encourage you to move forward.
Read good books: It is rightly said that, “Books are man’s best friend”. No reader would ever disagree with this statement. Reading multiplies your thinking ability and shapes your mind.
Surround yourself with good friends: Your company matters. Be with people who inspire you to get better. Your mind is restricted to certain thoughts if you don’t allow yourself to change your group. And in the long run, you shall know how important it is to have yourself surrounded by great minds.
Meditate: In Buddhist philosophy, the ultimate benefit of meditation is the liberation of the mind from attachment to things it cannot control, such as external circumstances or strong internal emotions. The liberated or “enlightened” practitioner no longer needlessly follows desires or clings to experiences, but instead maintains a calm mind and sense of inner harmony.
Look for your mentor: A good mentor is always effective in carving oneself. Their willingness to share skills, expertise, and qualities will reflect upon you. Look up to your mentor and you shall adapt to their finest qualities. Think of being a mentor for someone. Would you opt for yourself to be your mentor? Think about this and act accordingly.
Think about today when you are reading this and think about the time when you shall see your actions reflecting your thoughts. You have come a long way. The last task for you now is, plan of reading a book tomorrow and you shall realize how effective controlling your mind is.
